Comment: I grew up on
Hanna-Barbera and Filmation Studios cartoons and in 1969
I sent in about 1000 cereal box tops to get an offer for
two of the cars from Wacky Races. It was the Mean
Machine (above) and Penelope Pitstop's car (I'm too
tired to Google its name). I happened along the DVD set
of the entire series of "Wacky Races" today and it
inspired me to do this cartoon.
I drew the Mean
Machine in Manga Studio using their curve tool. It
is the best curve tool I've ever used (Adobe doesn't
even have one and Manga Studio is only $299! Wake up
Adobe!) and I simply import an image capture of the car,
trace it out then colorized it in PhotoShop CS2. I
hand drew the background and Bud. People I can do,
backgrounds I'm not too hot at (duh). Enjoy! |
