Gilligan's Commode

January 19th, 2008

Comment: Okay, you would have to have been literally stranded on a desert island not to know who these folks are.  Even my 11 year old knew them as the castaways of "Gilligan's Island."  I have often commented that the TV shows of the 60s, including that show called "Star Trek," never dealt with the fact that the show's characters would at some point have to answer Mother Nature's call.  Thus, tucked ever so slightly in the background is the door to the castaway's outhouse.  What's an outhouse?  Wiki it.  My Grandmother had one until 1977 and it was no fun at Christmas time either.

Also, all the characters here are essentially in character except for Ginger and Mary Ann.  Seems, if you believe actress Dawn Wells who played Mary Ann, that Tina Louise was a big bitch on the set most of the time.  Apparently she signed onto the show thinking GINGER was the star even though the show was called GILLIGAN's Island.  I find that really funny and thus I drew Ginger making a stink and pointing to herself as if to say "This is my damn show! Ask my agent!"  Sorry Ginger...
