Yes, while I did buy it, I admit it was a huge disappointment after VH I & II (altho "Everybody wants some" off that release has always been one of my favorite tunes of theirs - especially after being used in one of my favorite John Cusack movies - "Better Off Dead", during one of his animated daydream sessions while he's at work at Pig Burger). By & large, I liked all of their albums up thru "Fair Warning". They started losing me on "Diver Down", tho, & I absolutely loathed "1984", ESPECIALLY the song "Hot For Teacher"!! I'm also with you on Van Hagar - I LOVE Sammy Hagar. "Red", "Trans Am", "This Planet's On Fire", "Heavy Metal", etc., etc., not to mention his Montrose stuff which is some of my favorite music of all time, but I never liked hardly anything that VH did with Hagar. I got to meet VH in '78 working for the promoter of a big music festival at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas TX over the 4th of July weekend. Saturday was the rock 'n' roll day - about 15 acts with co-headliners Aerosmith/Ted Nugent, between sets MC's, Cheech & Chong, and Han Halen opening the show. Michael Anthony was very nice & engaging, Alex VH stayed to himself & didn't seem to want to speak to or engage with anyone, & David Lee & Eddie were absolute loud, obnoxious, arrogant, rude assholes. While I liked allot of VH's music & respected Eddie's talent, his & DLR's behavior at that event always blemished my overall appreciation of them... too bad.
