Eight Miles High

Eight Miles High

My two oldest boys were the right age to have seen and owned on video the Disney movie “Rescuers Down Under” and it was the original inspiration for this comic.  But, using Google to verify I spelled the title correctly, but what did my aging blood-shot eyes behold? The original “Rescuers” movie came  out in… [...]

Up, Up and Away!

Up, Up and Away!

Ah, good ol’ Clutch Cargo with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot. Spinner of course being his young ward and Paddlefoot his pet dog. The thing about Clutch Cargo cartoons was that human actors mouths were superimposed over a static drawing of the character who was talking. Really bizarre if you look at it today. They [...]

Twilight Zone

Twilight Zone

The “Twilight Zone” use to scare the heck out of me as a very young child in the early 60s. What a great show it was for its time.  But then I’ve cross-pollinated themes here as Bud and Jeff are dressed like the MIB guys.  I’m kinda that way…
I know, Golden Earring’s “Twilight Zone” came [...]

Road Trip: The Sequel

Son of a gun… Been using Manga Studio EX for over a year now and JUST today discovered the freakin’ marker tool for shading.  What a dufus!  So today’s comic was my first crack at using this new tool and I like the results and as I use it more I’ll get better at my [...]

Love Is Like Oxygen

Love Is Like Oxygen

Those crazy ladies only wanting us men for sex!  We have minds too you know!
Today’s title is from the group Sweet and fits nearly perfectly with lyrics like:
Love is like oxygen
You get too much you get too high
Not enough and you’re gonna die
Though, BTO’s “Sledgehammer” would fit very well too!
As always, enjoy! [...]

Don't Get Yourself In Trouble

Ah, the first comic published with Comic Press.  Been a long weekend and I kinda rushed this one out, but things will settle down in a bit.
A nice visit with the ladies of 1977 and why Lorraine is called Troubles.  Been hinting to it, but now we have a the real reason.  Trouble just follows [...]

Toledo Window Box

Toledo Window Box

The title is a big nod of the hat to dear old George Carlin… his humor inspired me years ago, and I’m sure bits of him show up in 1977 all the time without my knowing it… Going to miss that old fart…
I also got a great compliment saying that this series of comics (Jeff [...]

Us and Them

A little more fun with Jeff and the Squirrel. I have a nice ending coming up that may bring peace to this little battle. We’ll have to wait and see.
I’m getting a ton of visitors from my ads placed at Project Wonderful and if you have anything you want to promote and not spend thousands, [...]

Bath Time With Robyn

Robyn strikes a ZEN pose as she becomes one with Mr. Bubble…
As some of you may or may not know, I grew up in a house full of women as I had not one or two, but THREE older sisters. Add in my Mom and I had a grand total of 4 women raising me. [...]

Lowland Fling

“God, I hate Thursdays… I try to make them nice, but they bite me in the ass every time. I literally gave myself ANOTHER freakin’ virus today as I didn’t look at what I was clicking on in my email. I had about 10 things going on, and this email looked like one I normally [...]

I Saw A Squirrel…

I Saw A Squirrel…

The struggle for Jeff’s roof begins today as the squirrel gets in the first punch, so to speak.
The title is used by Invader Zim’s sidekick Gir when they first arrive on Earth to describe what he saw as they orbited the planet. Classic.

Far Out, Man!

Black Lights! Wow, haven’t had one of those since… well, 1977…
Oh, those black, yellow, green and whitet posters we’d buy and then our parents wondered why we locked our bedroom doors… “Far out, man, I see it too!”
I, being a techy even in 1977, built was what use to be calld a Color Organ, and [...]

Sail On, Sailor…

Sail On, Sailor…

An exciting conclusion to Bud’s first date with Delilah. Naked, wet and going down jokes abounded yesterday, but I am not that kind of cartoonist (well, yet).

One thing though, if ANYONE ever needs drawings of a 1969 Chevy Caprice, I’ve got the job! Damn, I’m remembering WAY too much about the car (I did drive [...]
