And the squirrels shall return another day… I know folks that once they’ve conquered something, it’s on to the next thing. Jeff seems to be the type to just want to prove his point and not really get rid of them permanently. Perhaps the squirrels have learned their lesson… I doubt it.
Life is getting in the way big time, so I apologize for this being late and in pencil form. I hope to pass over this hill (more of mountain to be honest) and I’ll get my life back a bit. I’ll keep you informed.
Garbage. You may not pick them as a band I’d follow, but I told you I’m sucker for female vocalists. I have their first two albums and was quite pleased when they did the title track for the Bond film “The World is Not Enough”. I know everyone loves Connery as Bond, but for me, Brosnan was the best. The debate over the best Bond is never-ending, but there you go.

garbage as a whole is an amazing band. used to listen to their debut record over and over on the 80 mile drive to werk. all their records have merit, imho.

Shirley M is also a fine actor – her character in The Sarah Connor Chronicles (the mysterious, philosophical and oh so dangerous Catherine Weaver) was seventeen shades of awesome. Not to mention her version of Samson and Delilah which was used so effectively in the soundtrack at one point…
This squirrel story line reminds me of the time my twin brother and I were called over to get rid of a crazed squirrel at my grandmothers. It wouldn’t leave the carport so she called us. We were 15 or 16 at the time, so we jumped on our bikes and headed over. Needless to say this squirrel was not evacuating without a fight. We finally got it cornered in a bush and when my brother looked in to see where it was it launched itself out and attached its body like an alien face hugger right smack in the middle of his face. He was pulling it and hitting it and it wouldn’t let go at first. He probably screamed and flopped around with it on him for 20 or 30 seconds but I’m sure to him it felt like 2 to 3 minutes. When that squirrel finally let go it went right back into the carport and just hung on the wall waiting for the next victim. We left it be and within a few hours it finally left on its own. So Jeff and Bud ya’ll be careful cause them little boogers don’t fight fair as it is and when push comes to shove they will attack.
Oh yeah, squirrels are mean little bastards indeed. They look all fury and cute, but can turn in a second. Jeff’s cartoon squirrels aren’t so much mean as conniving.
Your twin brother was lucky not to get his face chewed off. I’m sure there must have been some nasty scratches. Face hugger indeed! But as a farm boy, there’s only one solution for a squirrel like that… and that’s the business end of a .22 rifle.

Did i ever tell you about the summer i went down to Mississippi to visit my granny in her antebellum world I’d run barefooted all day long climbin’ trees free as a song and one day I happened to catch myself a squirrel. Well, I stuffed him down in an old shoe box, punched a couple of holes in the top andd when Sunday came I snuck him into church, i was sittin’ way back in the very last pew showin’ him to my good buddy Hugh when that squirrel got loose and went totally berserk.
Never heard that Ray Stevens’ song until just now. The video is a hoot. Reminds me of my young days down on the farm going to church. Same old ladies in those old Chevys. Nice!
