Like the new format? Hey…
I did a ton of cleaning up around the website these past few days. The site needed some Fall cleaning and adjusting and that eats up a lot of time. But, I wanted to add the characters interacting with the site in the sidebars and from that came a new desktop!
So with all that time spent looking at CSS and making new stuff, today’s comic just popped into my head. Bud’s getting ready to visit the Zoo, so here’s an extra comic for the week. I also like the “Stupid Sign” bit by comedian Bill Engvall and this is along those lines. It’s like the sign on the door of my Post Office that says “No Dogs Allowed Except for the Seeing Impaired”. If they’re seeing impaired they can’t read the damn sign and who the hell brings their dog into a Post Office in the first place? Isn’t that just a cruel joke for our mail-carriers? “Hey! Here’s the dog the tried to bite your hand off the other day! Thought I’d give him another shot!” Stupid signs rule.

Multiple panels one time, single panel the next…yep, that’s what I call a format
There used to be signs on the stairwells of all the platforms of our local major train station that read ‘NO EXIT LEADS ONLY TO PLATFORMS’. ‘Ah,’ I thought the first time I got off there, ‘if no exit leads only to platforms, that means I can exit the station by going down any stairway,’ and then discovering that the signwriters had left out a vital piece of punctuation. And I was obviously far from the only one to get led astray by that missing dot, because eventually they changed the signs to much less ambiguous ones
Oh yeah, the artist in me came screaming out this weekend. I have the new format comic for this week under way, but with doing all the updates and the desktop, I ran short of time… then this idea hit me and I cranked it out pretty quickly. So…
LOL, considering that song was originally written in 1939, it truly IS a golden oldie.
I also have been looking for a way to work in the word “asshat” into my daily vocabulary. Love that word lately… not that my readers are asshats… no…

I always considered this as a form of breaking the 4th wall. Very Buggs Bunny … sorta expect a gremlin holding a sign at the far right saying something along the lines of ‘I like him. He’s silly!’
