If I weren’t so freakin’ tired from having just returned from Florida, I’d give Kevin Pettway of the great D&D comic “Heroes of Lesser Earth” a big plug!  Well, this small one will do until I recover later Thursday! I’m so much more awake now than I was late last night when I posted this originally, and can really appreciate Kevin’s humor in this comic.  The superhero tie-in is perfect, and having Batman call Superman “an ass” is just too damn funny.  And Ivy commenting on how her boyfriend shouldn’t date villians if he didn’t wanted to be cheated on is classic!  Well done Kevin and you need to go check out his comic.  I’m not a D&D person at all, but I love the sense of humor Kevin uses to make the comic funny for D&D folks and idiots like me!  Go! The guest strips are (were) fantastic and I’m honored to have such cool artists among the many readers of the comic!

Now, I’m crashing for a LONG overdue rest. I hate vacations…

UPDATE:

Okay, I guess I’m “refreshed” after some sleep.  Nothing against others, but I can’t stand vacations.  They’re nothing more than a madhouse of deadlines; rushing so you can go “relax” yet you end up trying to cram so many activities into a short time span that you completely defeated the reason for the vacation in the first place: to get away from the day-to-day stresses of work and household chores.  So we spent 5 days traveling and enjoying Anna Maria Island on the gulf of Florida.  The weather was cool (but still warmer than Chicago) and the water freezing.  And the main activity consisted of walking the beach and looking for shells.  The quest for the perfect shell is never completed until you go down the road and buy one for $6 and take it home in a tiny bag only to find it crushed by the gorillas who handle your luggage at the airport.  That was so worth it!

Oh, and the song title: Van Halen recorded their first album in October of 1977, thus the connection to the year and comic.  Well, it sounds good just the same! :)
