Welcome to 1977 the Comic!
For you New Readers, 1977 is about four friends trying to become rock and roll stars in the late 70s but they face all types of every day challenges on their quest for a gold record! This storyline finds them needing to raise money after a failed trip to California (click here to read that story) and they attempt “day” jobs with mixed results.
Right now I’m offering Memberships to the site which will help me buy a new PC for creating the comic and other goodies. If after you’ve read the comic you feel like helping me meet my goal, your Membership gets you exclusive content and a free commission. Only $10! Cheap!
Membership Fee to Exclusive Content for 1977 the Comic.
Includes access to Member's Only pages and content. Includes one, single character digital pencil sketch commission of your choice. Digital Commission is delivered in high-resolution Adobe Acrobat PDF file and low-resolution JPEG file

So how about we start off this storyline with one of my favorite George Thorogood songs? Yeah, get a haircut and get a real job… Enjoy!

Here’s a fun little audio bit from a local radio station that plays 70s music!

YAY!!! Welcome back!
Thanks Irma! Been away too long from this and it was drivin’ me nuts. But I worked on my work-flow and seem to have a set schedule of creating the comics even though I’m working part-time now (I hate real jobs). Ironic that my gang gets a job and, gee, so do I. Wonder how this storyline was inspired? Hmmm…
Oh, everyone go check out Irma’s comic “Imy” Rock and Roll Jersey Girl style…

Welcome Back. I must be blind cause I don’t see the download link!
I didn’t think it was very obvious… I’ll have to point it out more often.
Lost a few brain cells since the 70′s. We need simple!
Hey, hey! I am with you on the brain cells thingy…
I am blind! Thanks.
Since I discovered this while you were on vacation, I’ve had plenty of time to catch up & that’s been fun! But I’m now TOTALLY STOKED to be rolling (chuckle-chuckle) along with you guys. WELCOME BACK!
Thanks Cliff! I share your enthusiasm and am glad to be back at the comic. It was boring not doing it. I’m glad you’re along for the ride!
Rawk! Welcome back, Byron! You and the gang have been missed.
Thanks man! The next time the comic goes on hiatus will be when they plant 6 feet under. The comic brings me too much enjoyment not to do it. I don’t care if I have 3 readers or 3 million, I do it because I love it. This break allowed me to recharge and focus on my goals for the comic, and I hope you all like it. I think you will.
Hey Byron!!!! Glad to see you back in the saddle!!! Missed getting my 1977 fix every m-w-f morning! Better than smoking a joint with my morning coffee!!! LOL Rock on brother!!!
Ziggy
Ziggy! My rock and roll brother! We bass players have to stick together, man.
Glad to be back. Yeah, at our age a joint in the morning just kinda messes up the whole day. Seems jobs want up to be productive. Imagine that?
How’s the new album coming along? I got bogged down this year in personal stuff and I want to get you guys a gig up here. I’ll contact a few minions and see what comes up!
Rock on, man…
Welcome back! Good job on the hiatus, too. First time I’ve seen someone actually update with content while away.
In many ways I was more productive on the comic during the hiatus then if I was drawing it 3-times a week. Working on branding, marketing, story-lines and most importantly improving my drawing chops. I can’t just leave 1977 and not do something of fun.
Good to have you along for the ride as well!
The revamp looks really dynamic, Byron! It’s great having you back.
Thanks, George! Now that I’m back, I’ll get that guest strip done for you as well. Lookin’ forward to rockin’ Addanac City!
Heeeeee’s baaaaack. And welcome! You done been missed, amigo!
Dare I suggest “Back In Black” as a tribute song?
Good song! And of course AC/DC rocks the 70s…
Aw, I’m gonna miss the pot leaf…
ROCK! Toast your favorite cheap beer to Byron!
